UpToDate Lexidrug App revisa

Crashes

Latest update crashes. CAn no longer open app.

good app

great up! very useful. i love how u can personalize it

Home Screen MESS

WHY would you remove the most utilized database from the home screen? I want my drug database on the Home Screen-that’s the whole point of this app. In 10+ years now you change this. I have never been as frustrated using this app as I have been since this update. Time to reevaluate where I spend my money.

3/24/25 update is not good

The 3/24/25 update has completely gutted the Home Screen and hidden the databases icon into the hamburger menu. There’s plenty of room on my screen to have this icon on the Home Screen instead of hiding it in a menu and requiring extra clicks to navigate. This has already proved to be super annoying in the 10 minutes I’ve spent using this today. Please add this icon back to the Home Screen! I’ve used mobile lexicomp for >15 years and this is a step in the wrong direction. Also, would recommend removing text “autocorrect” capabilities from the search text box as most drug names will confuse autocorrect databases and change what you’re trying to search for, which is super annoying. I believe this is new behavior that started with 3/24/25 updated. One thing I do like with this update is that the search results now show “starting with” results first and that makes way more sense than the previous methodology.

Ridiculous lag time

The lag time is minutes with just about every screen tap

Worse with new releases

New versions are laggier and crash so much more than previous releases.

please change back to the old icon

I’ve used LEXICOMP for years. I also use uptodate. I pay for both of them personally, since my practice group does not subscribe. It’s annoying and unnecessary that the icons for both are now exactly the same. Please give us an option to use the old lecicomp icon. Both references are next to each other on my phone, since i use them so much. Now they look like the same app. This is NOT helpful for someone who may be consulting the drug reference after being awake for 24 or more hours.

Jump feature not working (FIXED) Thx

Writting from Iphone 13 pro max. The Jump feature is not working properly and it is crucial for speed during work. Will not renew if this is not fixed.

Worst app I’ve downloaded

What is going on? I am logged in on my institutional account and cannot do anything. I said yes to download all datasets, but it shows none in my library, and I cannot do a search because I haven’t selected a dataset. I can’t select one if they won’t download. I’ll definitely be saying something to my dental hygiene director and asking if they will consider an alternative resource that has an app that actually works. For the money we pay for an institutional subscription, this is not good at all. Regular UTD app works just fine, btw.

Bad charges

I downloaded this and decided I didn’t want it and backed out of it. I haven’t even signed onto the account yet and I just got charged three different payments all different amounts at three different times. It makes no sense to me.

Every New Version is Less Functional

Twelve years ago it was excellent. Now I would hesitate a lot to purchase it for my own practice if I didn’t have access through my hospital. Every big update makes it worse, and I have to say it feels like they are truly looking for what else to ruin. No, I don’t want to navigate through 5 menus EVERY TIME I go in to call up a drug. Most of what I have to wade through has never once been useful, or rarely at best. The app is unstable and crashes fairly frequently. The most recent surprise was that it suddenly decided to lock me out of the app in the middle of looking something up, and for absolutely no reason. I am still in the process of trying to recover my access, and had to delete everything to see if a fresh download would help. Having the drug reference is absolutely vital to doing my job, but the implementation is getting more disappointing as time goes by.

Used to be an the leader of the pack

I’ve used LexiComp since 2004 on Palm and Windows Mobile. It had solid performance up until about 3 years ago on iPhone and iPad. As many others have mentioned, you cannot lock your databases in place. The drug ID seems to miss a lot. In all honesty, it sounds like they have a developer issue. Also, I don’t like that you can’t house or update content anymore. It says that it downloads datasets automatically, yet I always get ‘updated content’ anytime I click on a drug. If I’m on a flight or don’t have service, it’d be nice to update before I go like it used to be. Epocrates and drugs.com have better app performance. Wish they’d have more stability like they used to.

Sorting the library

Currently unable to sort library databases. When editing to change the order (such as making Lexi-drugs the first database) the settings immediately revert to the default after pressing “done.” Pleeeeeeasssse fix! The app is much more convenient when search results appear in order of relevancy. Otherwise love the app

Database Organization

I can no longer sort my databases. As soon as I move Lexi Drugs to the top it immediately moves back down to where it originated. Happens on both iPhone and iPad. Please fix/update

Can’t sort databases

There is a bug where I can’t sort the databases. It allows me to move them around but then they instantly go back to how they were

Databases “expired” as soon as I got charged my subscription

As soon as I got charged for my monthly subscription the app stopped working. I tried deleting and redownloading and the databases say they’re expired. I got charged and now I can’t use this at work. Also it’s definitely not as user friendly as I’d like it to be for quick patient questions. I paid for nothing.

Lexicomp cancellation

I couldn’t simply click a button to cancel my recurring subscription, but had to call and talk to someone so they could click a button to cancel. Then they said since I didn’t cancel 5 days before the 30 days was up, that I will be charged again. Shady business tactics. I asked why I would be charged and she said “It is all explained in the terms and conditions you agreed to when you first subscribed. ” Never again. What a joke.

Getting worse!

Generic info, lucking specifics. Especially MOA. You can google and find more info and faster! Lexi- comp subscriber since 2004! Tablets identification is pathetic. I was entering pill description and couldn’t get any result. My tech found it on google in 3 min. You ruined a perfect product! Missing my Lexi comp complete.

Getting worse and worse

Where is my pill ID function? Still paying for subscription but everything is offered less!

Glitchy, problems downloading library

Not happy at all with this app. Designed like an app from 10 years ago, can’t seem to load the necessary libraries (dead ends). Back to epocrates.

Unable to use

No option to enter my organization’s subscription code. Buy it on iTunes or nothing. Delete.

Greed

LexinotsoComp was my favorite app to make decisions, unfortunately there is annual changes to prices compared to data provided. I’m not sure why I’m using it. They offer basic plan for limited databases that I’m already aware of and do not need, and offer the rest of the databases that I need for half of my paycheck. I’ll be waiting for a price cut down at least by half, otherwise I’d rather pay my bills thank you.

Ease of use clearly not the goal

This app is pretty nice if it was designed in the early 2000s. When I look up a drug to get basic info like dosing, MoA, adverse effects, I have to scroll through an entire list of the same drug names to find the correct entry. Every time I open the app, I find myself quickly resorting to other references.

Don’t buy this

I have had this app fir over 15 years and each year the price went up and the functionality and offerings have gone down. Finally they took away the useful databases and delete any customized choices. This used to be the best. Like owning an Edsel. Good bye lexicomp.

Suggestion for improvement

It would be helpful if we could set the height and weight to default to metric for calculations versus the default height in inches and weight in kg.

15 years

I have been a loyal user of lexicomp for 15 years. I’ve recommended Lexi to many colleagues over the years. Called yesterday to renew my 3 year subscription. Informed that it’s no longer offered and several topics are no longer included. No more labs or 5 min consult to name some. New company bought them out. There are alternatives, bye bye Lexi Gary Consultant Pharmacist

Way too expensive

It's an invaluable tool to have but the cost is just too much

Don’t waste your time.

My job deals with acutely ill patients in a hospital setting. For years the ease of use and detailed information made this favorite resource and I used it almost daily. For the past few years however each update has lessened the ease of access and made it more difficult to justify the price of purchase when compared to similar apps. A few days ago I opened my LexiComp app and found a series of frustrating and confusing steps that needed to be taken before I could access the information I wanted. Attempts to reach customer service were of no use. I have requested a refund due to my inability to access the information I need in a timely manner but have yet to receive a response to my request. Given the price I paid for this app the lack of response was frustrating to say the least. As a hospital based provider I need accurate and quickly accessible information which no longer seems to be available from this developer. Don’t waste your money or your time on this.

Farnacéutico

Necesito tener la edición anterior pues me daba muchos tetalles y tenía muchas opciones de librerías, como me pueden ayudar?

Update. Excellent information but poor design

Update: let me just say I HATE the new update. My biggest complaint is when selecting “jump” through different monograph shortcuts it automatically makes the “mono” the default selection. As if I’m going to remember Lexicomp’s monograph order to find things. No. I want the option of “alpha” the alphabetical monograph jump section to be my default. I would like the ability to change my default and I cannot. It’s a huge pain. Not only that but the mono menu is also not fully expanded and because of that it’s easy to miss sections if you don’t remember to press expand all EVERY SINGLE TIME. Your update blows. Made the app even worse. The is perhaps one of the best drug references out there (content wise) HOWEVER it is extremely expensive and the software design is weak at best. It takes too long to navigate to find the exact information you want to know (endless scrolling though a ton of text). If it was formatted better it would be my go to app. This app needs a lot of work. Automatic updates for one thing. Please make it better it is 2016 and this app's poor design is lagging. If they used some of their money to hire software engineers that actually know what they are doing this app would be a lot more user friendly.

Can’t save tables anymore

Should have listed that you can’t save tables anymore in your last update description. Not worth the price with other comparable and much cheaper mobile apps.

Lexi Complete no longer available

It appears that Lexi Complete has been removed as an option. It used to be the go to gold standard for drug information that I have use for the last 14 years. The quality of the interface has decreased the time and now that Lexi comp complete is no longer an option, the quality of the reference material is probably worse than many other free apps that are just as good or better than a subscription. I would no longer recommend this product to anyone as a professional reference. It appears that Lexicomp was bought out by a larger parent company who attempts to monetize the information but the marketing team knows little to nothing about the products they own. If I was the CEO I would start firing people for such poor performance.

BEWARE - You may not be able to cancel the one mont free trial

I tried the one free month.. and cancelled within the month. Lexicomp submitted a request for payment that was then declined 3 three more times the following month.. On the third attempt it was kicked in the AutoPay and they were paid 32.54 every month for 6 months before I spotted it. Apple got two months refunded. The remaining 4 payments were not able to be recouped. The cancellation at Lexicomp is not dependable. I am sure they have made a lot of money in this way scamming people who tried their software.

Took away 50% of content without explanation!

I have been a monthly (not a cheap subscription) for at least 3 years. Was great. 5 stars. Then, last month, no explanation and no discount or rebate, they took away at least 75% of content. Yes, mid-subscription they did update and just ripped me off without explanation. Not acceptable. Both 5 minute clinical consults vanished. Again, no apology, no explanation, just clicked on update, new terrible format, and content just taken away. Again, I paid for a product, got 75% of it taken away first week of monthly subscription with no explanation and sure as heck didn’t refund 75% of the subscription fee. Not cool.

Feels like they stopped paying attention to the app

This used to be quite an amazing app. One of my favorite features was the ability to customize it via the “mono” arrangement of drug sections. However, the ability to edit/arrange this has been lost for over a year now and they keep saying “we’re working on it”! A shame-because it feels like such an easy fix to restore a function that was there before. Otherwise, information is good and very useful. Just not as easily available as it could(or used to) be.

Bait & Switch

I have an institutional subscription that has to be rE registered annually, did the usual, and the (expletive expletive expletive) app would not stop saying my subscription was expiring until I clicked ‘confirm your subscription in the App store’. I saw something that said ‘$0.0’ and signed OK. Then I see a receipt from Apple for a paid subscription. Lexicomp app engineers who created this ‘bug’, app program managers who approved it, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.

App suddenly stops working

I hope you aren’t relying on this for a job or to take care of patients cause it doesn’t always work when you need it. I needed to ID some drugs on the fly. Opened app. It won’t let me use drug ID without a sync. I sync 108 mb over 5 mins. Sync fails. Still unable to use. Unacceptable. How about a way to get to the “filter drugs” index from the main screen? So I don’t have to click through Library > Lexi Drugs > Drugs to get to the “filter drugs” index which is the only index I need to quickly get to. Sorry, searching from the home screen brings up too much junk and it is still several clicks to get to a drug monograph.

Watch your bank account

I am a third year medical student who just started clinical rotations. We were told by our school that Lexicomp was covered through our UpToDate subscription, yet my personal account has still been charged $29.99.

Automatic subscription

I apparently unwittingly ordered this, and with automatic renewal I don't know how long I paid for this, but I NEVER USED LEXICOMP. Enough said.

Funky update function

I would recommend lexicomp to develop the app that allows users to update the content in the background without having interruptions to searching the drugs. Also, it would be nice to have the update on the content still happening in the background when users switch the screen to use a different app.

Garbage app

App is absolute trash. The subscription/log-in process is convoluted. Passwords don’t function properly, and the reset only resets the password for the web store but not mobile access. I wish my institution didn’t use this service.

Keeps crashing

App keeps crashing. It’s completely unusable now

Gets worse and not better

It seems that over time the information gets more generic. Specifically in areas such as MOA. As pharmacists are a primary customer it would be good to have as much detailed information on the details as possible. New UI is not easy to navigate. Why did you make it use an extra keystroke to search? Previously one started typing and drug names popped up in a given database. Now you have to type and hit search then correct spelling then hit search again, rinse and repeat. Annoying. Beginning to think there are other options that are better although I’ve been using continuously for over 15 years now. 3 stars for content but would only give 1 star for UI.

Update is hard to use

This new version of mobile Lexicomp is very hard to use now that I can no longer go straight to the section of the monograph that is needed. It’s really annoying to have to scroll all there at down to PK or the Preparation section because it’s farther down.

Back to 5 stars

**revised** Developer published a fix to the update screen default. Everything is back up to speed and no more waiting for drug info if there is slow or no WiFi access. Thank you! The newest version of the app defaults to the update screen. I can’t tell you how much I HATE this. If there is a poor signal or no WiFi access in a building, it is not possible to navigate away from the update page until the device has failed to make a connection. How embarrassing when a physician stops me in the hallway or calls and I can’t look up the information of concern. It just makes an angry physician who isn’t interested in waiting while I stare at my unresponsive screen. If I could keep the drug data in my head for instant recall, I wouldn’t need Lexicomp in my lab coat pocket at all times. Please change this!

Nice refresh

Home screen much more user friendly. Search results much better organized

Update is awful

Update is awful. Difficult to use. Pediatric dosing missing (for example cefdinir).

Too many clicks and not optimal search function

Not happy with new update. App defaults to update page instead of home page. Then you have to 'click' four times just to get to the search field. THEN if you search using only the first few letters of a drug name, the search results pulls in ANY drug name that contains those letters, even if those letters are in the middle of the drug name. Why doesn't the drug names that begin with those letters appear at the top of the list?

WoW! If this is just the start ...

I LOVE it! Much faster and MUCH less crowded! My sometimes tired eyes would struggle before. It still needs some love here and but I like it so far. Long awaited for sure! Can’t wait to see where it goes next release. 👍🏼

Now we’re talking!

Glad they are bringing the Lexi-Comp app up to the same excellent standards as their UpToDate app. Also...SPLIT-SCREEN ability with the iPad pro!!! 👍👍👍

Disappointed

So disappointed when I went to renew my subscription and realized 5 minute clinical consult is no longer apart of this package. Will most likely not renew due to this change.
